A few things
1) Hi there! I'm Dira, and I like slash, even (especially?) weird slash that hardly anyone writes. Which leads me directly to my question...
2) How rare is rare, do y'all think? I notice that, e.g., one of the community's icons is for Dom/Sean LoTR actorslash, which is (I assume - I'm not all that familiar with Lotrips) an obscure pairing in a fairly good-sized fandom. OTOH, our only actual post so far represents a fandom that basically doesn't have anywhere to go but here. So whaddya think? Not that we seem to be in need of ways to limit traffic in the community...
3) Speaking of the community's icons... Malts/Drapes! Who made that?! ::smooches:: I'm a Wings fan and while my Stevie is sacred, I can totally get behind Grind Line love, and that's an awesome icon.

2) I consider rareslash in large communities to be the pairings that are way under represented. We'll use Lotr RPS as an example again. ^_^ Dom/Sean or Viggo/Billeh would be rareslash while Dom/Lij or Viggo/Orli wouldn't be. In rare fandoms where there is little to no fanfic of any pairing, I figure any slash pairing could be posted here. Even if it's the largest 'ship in that pairing, it's still rare just because the fandom is so small.
3) Glad you like the icon! ^_^ I'm of Detroit, and I love the Wings as well as HockeySlash. <3

Er... Billeh? (Oh, Boyd? Because of the accent? I get it...)
And, whee! A Wings fan! Who's your favorite? I got a Stevie jersey when I finally bought one this summer, and he's my favorite in the sense of being, well, Stevie, but I don't really have a favorite otherwise, except that I get irrationally attached to random players like, oh, Patrick Boileau.
