Back in the 60s (I think, it might have been the early 70s) there was a movie called Happy Ending, and it worked exactly the same way. It started with a man killing his wife, then went backwards and ended with her alive and them both still happy with each other.

This was clever then, and it's extremely clever now.

Maybe this is why I'll often watch a movie that way. (the tension in Aliens drove me up the wall, and that was the only way I could see it.)

I was fascinated to watch their relationship devolve, all the while knowing they were safe and together, and the last part, where they first met, was amazing.
