Pimp Your Obscure Fandom Week
Mar. 30th, 2004 10:00 pmMarch 30 - April 6 is Pimp Your Obscure Fandom Week. Why? Because obscure fandoms get no love and hardly any fic except from their devoted few. Surely there is a brilliant movie out there with only 10 people in the fandom, or book with characters that demand further exploration that they don't get because no one has actually read the book. You can remedy that situation!
Tell people why they should watch the movie/read the book/see the series. Surely there's some reason, whether it's intriguing characters, good plotting, fascinating universe, or just full of really pretty people who you think more people need to write about in compromising positions. (The characters should be in compromising positions, that is. Not the writers. But hey, whatever floats your boat.) Plot summaries, character backgrounds, pictures, fic links, whatever you think will get more people involved. You can look at the fandom-of-the-month posts over in
crack_van for a general idea, though you don't have to go that far in-depth by any means. Number of fandoms and how you advertise them is completely up to you, though sticking to your own LJ may be a good idea in order to avoid any drama over community spamming. *g* Have fun.

obscurefandoms and
rareslash, apologies if I'm accidentally breaking a rule in either community.)
