New fic: "Crow on the Cradle" - The Village, ensemble cast - PG13

Title: Crow on the Cradle
Fandom: The Village
Characters/Pairings: Ensemble cast, the usual (Lucius/Ivy, Finton/Jesse, etc.)
Notes: There was something of a small outcry (you wanted to know more) over how the second of my first two Village pieces ended. At the time, I wasn't certain if I reasonably could write a third piece, given the circumstances; I liked leaving it where it was for the reader to decide for her-/himself. However, there's a traditional song - it shares a title with this story - that seems to sum up (for me) where it's all ultimately going. Without further ado, this piece is third in a sequence, following "How the Blossoms Grow" and "All the World to See."
Summary: Wherein time passes, decisions are made, and consequences are discovered.
