A/N: My first ever fic in this fandom. I had no intention of writing a WWII fic but this thing burrowed its way into my brain and did my head in. In other words I lost all control of the plot and the thing took over my life. So welcome to the madness. Please note that although death does play a part in this story it is not a death story as such though could be considered transitional. At this stage there will definitely be a sequel.
