One: To whom it may concern
He's always been drawn in by him,
His energy, his electricity,
His surprising loyalty
So he never pays much thought to all the little things he notices
He figures he can't be the only one.
He'll never understand what it all means until it's too late.
Two: Kill the functions
He never likes days like these ones
The ones the other boy's humanity is so apparent
He's become his pillar of strength
Always so unbreakable, untouchable
But the small crease between his brows
And the slight hunch to his shoulders
Construe a fake sort of happiness,
One only he seems to recognize
Three: Nothing's as it seems
It comes as a bit of a shock the first time he hears it
He'd always thought of the other boy as distant
Like there was no way he'd ever need anyone
So the night the other tells him he's his closest friend
He feels a small sort of elation
Knowing maybe he's needed too
Four: It haunts me in my dreams
Sometimes the other boy scares him
He comes around, or calls him over
After he's taken his drugs
It always makes him nervous,
The way his eyes roll back
How violent he can get
But still he always stays
No matter how bad it gets with him
It's always worse without
Five: Reflections of false hope
Secretly, he wonders if soul-mates exist
He wonders what form they come in
Lover, friend, mentor, who knows
He'd never say it aloud
But he feels like he's found his
It has nothing to do with love or affection
Loosing him, no matter how much he puts him through,
Would mean losing a piece of himself
Six: I'd take you to the darkest place
He feels like he's losing him
He knows that it's the drugs
The rift between them is widening rapidly
And he doesn't know how to feel,
What to do
So one day when he offers to bring him along
He agrees, he'd never do anything else anyway
