Pairing: Sick Boy/Renton

Warning(s): uuuh nothing really.
Summary: Sick Boy cannot find the words.
Renton has noticed lately that something is different about Sick Boy. He's slow on his comebacks and they're generally sub par, something Renton would expect from himself (Sick Boy nearly always gets him flustered like that), but he would never expect from Sick Boy, oh no. Sick Boy is distracted and distant, Renton wants to ask him what's wrong but he thinks he can't, and then he does anyway, without realising it.
Renton is surprised at the violence of Sick Boy's reaction, of course they've gotten into a few square-goes in their day (Sick Boy nearly always comes out the better), but there's usually a reason behind it, daft or drunken though it may be, and Renton is more or less expecting it. Today he's pinned to a wall; Sick Boy's got him by the front of his shirt with a somewhat angry expression on his face and Renton has no idea what is going on.
Renton would ask Sick Boy what's wrong, again, but right now he's not entirely sure if he can use his voice without sounding strange, (because Sick Boy in close proximity nearly always frightens and excites him and he's no idea why). Long ago they learned to communicate with expressions and eyes, and right now he calls upon that, though they haven't used it in a long time, because eyes do not have treacherous voices that can crack at the most inopportune times.
To his surprise, Sick Boy answers back with a look (Sick Boy nearly always chose to vocalise his response, usually making an arse of Renton in the process); one that says If I could tell you I would let you know.
"Show me, then," Renton whispers, and it's a good thing they're all alone in the flat because after a minute of indecision, Sick Boy leans forward and firmly presses his lips against Renton's, still holding Renton by the shirt-front; and Renton understands, finally, what's wrong with Sick Boy. (Because Sick Boy nearly always says he loves people when he doesn't, and now that statement's lost credibility, and he was never taught that sometimes words can be overrated.)
