I've gotten back into the beat of writing, so this series actually stands a chance! Now if someone besides me wanted to read it, that'd be even better!
Catch and Release (or So She Said)
Fandom: Intelligence FPS/Catch and Release RPS
Pairing: Jimmy Reardon/Timothy Olyphant
Summary: An evening at the Chickadee with the boys turns into a whole lot of trouble for Timothy Olyphant.
Rating: Let's say R for this chapter, Tim's language has been greatly influenced by his time on Deadwood. Also, sex talk.
Disclaimers: The fictional characters are not mine, they belong to the nice folks at CBC (we would be thankful if they left them on the air for the many years to come). The "real" people portrayed in this story are obviously complete fabrications of my twisted mind and bear no resemblance whatsoever to the actual persons who have the same names. Don't sue, I mean no offense and I make absolutely no money from this.
Half an hour later and the game of truth or dare - during which we learned Jimmy's actual occupation, which sobered us for about a minute - has morphed into "I never..." because nobody had enough imagination to choose dare. Or maybe we're a little afraid to inadvertently insult the crime boss among us. Anyway, we don't know each other well enough to make either game uninteresting.
It doesn't take long after that for the game to turn exclusively to sex. On Juliette's next turn, it gets precisely where Kevin wanted it to go.
"I never..." She begins. "Had sex with a person of the same sex."
She drinks, but Kevin interrupts.
"Wait, wait! For the sake of honesty, I think we should clarify the meaning of "sex"."
I could swear Jimmy mutters "Americans" under his breath in the ensuing chaos. Juliette holds up her hand to stop the shouting.
"All right, let's start with the basics." She begins to enumerate. "I never kissed someone of the same sex." We all look around as no-one drinks.
"Okay. I never... Felt the boobs - chest - of someone of the same sex." Sam drinks, Jen and I spontaneously boo him.
"I never touched the genitals of someone of the same sex." Jen and Sam drink.
"I never brought someone of the same sex to orgasm using my hands." Again, only Sam and Jen drink.
"I never received oral sex by someone of the same sex." Kevin joins Sam and Jen this time.
"Oooh, now it gets interesting. I never performed oral sex on someone of the same sex." This time, Jimmy and I are the only ones who don't drink. When Julie and Kevin both yell "Cocksucker!", I'm afraid Jimmy won't know the reference and be angry but he takes a sip with them, showing he's aware of the Deadwood drinking game. I'm beginning to really need a drink, and probably something stronger than beer. "Well, I'm done. It's you two now, boys."
I cheat and down the rest of my beer bottle, Sam immediately hands me another one.
"I'll go ahead and continue in the same line." Kevin says amiably. He sounds much too sober all of a sudden. "I never sodomized a guy." Julie doesn't drink at that, momentarily confusing everyone and taking the attention away from the two others who still don't drink.
"Juliette, you don't have a dick, how can you sodomize a guy!" I blurt out over the other exclamations.
"Strap-on." She says as if it was the most natural thing in the world, not to mention obvious.
"I've never been sodomized by a guy." Kevin continues. My face feels burning hot, yet I can't take my eyes from Jimmy. Neither of us drinks.
"Interesting." Kevin remarks, much too eager for my comfort. "I need more information. Did you enjoy it? How many times? How long ago? Do you consider yourself bisexual, straight, gay-"
"You have to start with "I never"." Jimmy remarks, effectively ending the game.
His cell phone rings in the ensuing expressions of disappointment, and he walks away to answer it. He returns with his excuses, saying he's being called away for business. I wonder for a second if he's really going to go conduct "business" while stoned but a look at his eyes as he shakes my hand before departing shows me something I should have noticed much earlier. He's dead sober.
